Omega Watches
Omega is a Swiss luxury watch manufacturer with a long tradition which dates back to the 19th century. History of Omega starts in 1848 when a 23-year old Louis Brandt who assembled precision pocket-watches from components supplied local craftsmen founded a workshop in La Chaux-de-Fonds in western Switzerland. After his death in 1879 his two sons Louis-Paul and Cesar abandoned the assembly workshop and started to manufacture the watch components and by 1903 when they both died Omega became one of the largest Swiss watch companies. Under leadership of Paul-Emile Brandt and Joseph Reiser from 1955 the company continued to grow becoming Switzerland’s largest and the world’s third producer of finished watches. The company is since 1998 owned by the Swatch Group.
Omega has a long history and reputation of manufacturing one of the finest luxury watches on the world. The Omega Speedmaster Professional also known as the Moon Watch made of stainless steel on a stainless steel bracelet with a black dial and hesalite crystal was worn by American astronaut Buzz Aldrin during the lunar landing in 1969, while Seamaster Professional Diver 300 M was worn by James Bond in five James Bond movies. Besides James Bond Omega Ambassadors list also features the Oscar winning actress Nicole Kidman, George Clooney and some of the greatest names in sports such as Michael Phelbs, Michael Schuhmacher, Sergio Garcia and many others.
Omega watches are designed for life and the company guarantees the repairs at least 20 years from the date of production. All Omega watches are shock-resistant and resistant to magnetic fields. Omega stainless steel watches do not release nickel and are suitable for people allergic to nickel as well.
